SNL is a funny show. Has been. Always shall be. But, every so often, they hit my love of all things random with a bit of obscure comedy that sticks with me. So enters the final skit of SNL’s 2009 season. Will Ferrell lead singing a celebrity ensemble of Billy Joel’s ode to Vietnam, Goodnight Saigon, is nothing less than sublime. To see the joy in cast members, SNL hosts and a punk rock band all taking to the stage together to entertain us makes me feel good about being part of a ensemble team at Fred Squared. It really is great to be part of a group watching your singular talents form into something better as a whole. If you get the chance, it’s always better to belong. Especially in those rare moments when we all go down together.
That’s enough. Enjoy the show.
