DW:  Web Pioneer  /  UPS Tracking  /  Agency  Leader  /  Entrepreneur

Dave Walters has spent every minute of an 19-year technology career immersed in Atlanta.  As one of the first 12 members of the team led by Pam Alexander, he led the march from packaged software to full-on Internet business during the 1990s.  By defining core interactive strategies for brands such as Discovery Channel, UPS, Lowe’s, Elvis Presley Enterprises and hundreds more, Dave knows what it takes to succeed in an ever-changing environment – both inside a Fortune 50 company, and as an external agency partner.  By combining a program-level skill set built on owning applications like UPS Tracking with world-class agency experience at Modem Media (Digitas) and Tribal DDB, Dave has become a loyalty and marketing leader responsible for acquiring, activating and retaining millions of customers online. Whether is was fine-tuning the user experience of UPS Tracking’s 15 million daily sessions or producing direct marketing programs for Home Depot, the goal was always the same: a flawlessly executed program to increase revenue and decrease cost. Dave has spent the last five years defining and advocating a concept called Experience-Based Loyalty, which is built on enhancing customer relationships through insights as opposed to pricing discounts.  An early household full of Wes Montgomery, Sergio Mendez, Judy Collins and the Fat Boys was critical in forming a lifetime love of music.  Dave’s passion has translated to one amazing, eclectic iPod playlist.  Upon receiving a BS in Journalism from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1990, he promptly left the cold and snow for sunny Atlanta.

Dave currently leads commercialization at TechDrawl. He can be reached at dave@fredsquared.com.
